Ohh... Bessie... it's a new month and a new slew of activities at Cozy. This first weekend is extra great because of some SUPER events:

And now for a BIG Announcement! We still have some spaces available for our February Retreat! And now we can offer a discounted rate for those people who can only come on Sunday and Monday! That's right! For those who have scheduling conflicts on Tuesday, now you can still participate in either the sewing retreat or the embroidery retreat! But hurry, I have to turn in the final list soon.. and we want you on it!
When you are in this weekend, check out the finished embroidery quilt! It's quilted, bound, and hanging in the Bernina department. It is Be-UT-i-FUL! Building Blocks Phase 2 Pattern #2
Welcome to Building Blocks with Sharyn Craig! PHASE 2 - MONTH 2 Get your quilting tools ready to build these versatile 9-patch blocks designed by Sharyn Craig! One block will be released every month through 2011. The wonderful 9-Patch blocks all finish as a 9" square and can easily be constructed with a rotary cutter and ruler. Or you can choose to build them with templates or pattern pieces. Get all 12 blocks or just a few. You'll probably want the same colorway each month, but it isn't a requirement. Did you notice that our picture of the block isn't colored in? That's because Sharyn wants you to decide what goes where - make it how YOU want it! You get to pick how many fabrics you use in the block, where you want a particular fabric, and what portion of the block YOU want to feature. We know this sounds scary, but we promise, it's fun, exciting, rewarding, and there are absolutely now wrong answers! Try building your blocks using our Phase 2 Building Blocks Templates! Building Blocks Phase 2 Kit #2 - Light Neutrals Sundeck is Block #2 released in February 2012. This kit includes 3 fat eighths in fabrics in lighter neutrals [fabrics may vary from kit to kit]. We are deliberately NOT providing a background with the kits - you get to choose your own! Use the same background for every block you build, or use something different from your stash. If you would like to plan ahead and use the same fabric throughout your Building Blocks, you will need to get 1 additional yard of fabric and up to 2 yards if you might like to use it for the setting. Marguerite is working on another wonderful Smith Street Designs pattern (#6007) for Embroidery Club. This pattern includes six embroidery designs that are used to make the Pocket Books and Carry All Bag shown in the photo here (including five designs that feature machine embroidery applique). If youre into Spring cleaning, these are the patterns to help get organized. The set includes patterns for quilted books with lots of pockets for sewing notions, quilting &/or crochet hooks, and a carry-all bag for odds and ends to bring to classes.
Come and join the fun. Please call ahead to reserve your space and request a supply list and pattern. The club fee is waived for the purchase of the pattern. All models of embroidery machines are welcome.
