This dazzling quilt creates three dimensional illusion by working with color
value. It's simple to assemble and lets the fabrics do the work.
Choosing fabric: You need a collection that offers different values of
color. When choosing and sorting colors, the magic number is 5. You need 5
colors in each grouping and each grouping will make 3 blocks. Have as many
different groupings as you like and repeat color groupings as you like. A good
start is to have 25 different fat quarters or quarter yard cuts that look like a
Cotton Rainbow.
Number of 2½" strips: You need a total of 30 strips for a Throw, 50
for a Twin, 80 for a Queen. You can use fat quarters without additional piecing.
One fat quarter or quarter yard cut will yield the equivalent of 3 strips.
